George Dadd

After Training in Engineering, George studied Maritime Engineering Science at Southampton University on their one-year Master’s degree. He then embarked on a four-year research degree in kite dynamics, before taking three months out during his second year to join the Vestas Sail Rocket speed sailing team in Namibia. During their world record attempt, he has been involved with the development and build of their control mechanisms and managed the instrumentation systems for craft optimisation.

On joining the Team, George says: "For my own aspirations in engineering, this one has completely nailed it! Being involved in the cutting edge developments of speed sailing is more exciting than I could have ever imagined. The Vestas SailRocket team has been truly inspirational."
